Do Sheep Come in These Colours?

My friend Kate brought me these fibre samples from her holiday in Orkney. My favourite is the blue (lower left), but they are all lovely and splendid to touch. The card says these are 'hand dyed felted wool pieces and North Ronaldsay rovings' that are suitable for 'any number of imaginative wool work and creativity projects'. I think they would be wonderful framed.

I Promise...

There are so many websites promoting Scotland, doing the whole tourist bit, offering all manner of items for sale. That's nice, but it's not my thing. I'll tell you about what I like, what I stumble across, what I see on the street--and, if possible, where to get it. I'll tell you about anything and everything because nobody's paying me to do it. (I wish they were!) Most of all, I promise to do my very best to make it interesting and fun!

This Summer's Best Bangle...So Far

Don't miss the Peacock Graffiti Bangle from Accessorize, a great buy at £6 in sweet summer colours.

My Shoes!

I really like these Caliopa shoes from Moda in Pelle--classic, but just a little on the funky side, especially in pink.

You Know You Need One

Don't have your haggis whistle yet? Get one now at The Haggis Whistle. This pottery whistle comes gift boxed and is a must-have for calling the little beasties.

Love Love Amazon

My favourite place to go shopping in Scotland has to be Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk). They have everything, they deliver it, and their website works really well. If they start delivering groceries, I'll be first in the queue.
